The Federation of African Universities (FAU) is a continental non-governmental and not for profit confederation set up by universities in Africa to promote cooperation among themselves and with the international academic community.
FAU is a network and continental confederation founded in January 25, 2022, dedicated to promoting education understanding and awareness of the African environmental education services and its intercultural mediation through the honest and accurate cooperation and integration of local, regional, continental and international knowledge and development issues. It acted as the head of national, regional scholars’ forums or university organizations of 54 countries in the African environment.
Founded with an initial membership of 54 public and private universities on May 25, 2022 in Adis Ababa, Ethiopia, the FAU’s membership has grown to over 100 educational institutions in Africa. In cooperation with UNESCO, UNASO, WHED project and AU is the leading continental confederation of higher education institutions and organizations from around the Africa.
FAU is an independent, bilingual (English and French), non-governmental, membership confederation. FAU membership is open to higher education institutions (HEIs) and organizations.
FAU is funded primarily through its membership fees and depends on these to effectively carry out its wide portfolio of activities encompassing its series of online webinars and thematic debates, events and conferences, publications, projects and other initiatives.
We are committed to helping universities and innovative businesses enhance their external collaboration to drive innovation and societal growth. Through our events, services, and online platform, we enable our members to develop and share knowledge, network with peers and form new relationships across the globe.

GENERAL CONFERENCE INFORMATION
The core mandate of the FAU is to raise the quality of higher education in Africa and strengthen its contribution to Africa’s development by fostering collaboration among member institutions and students community through annual conferencing and face to face discussions.
