The Federation of African Universities (FAU) and the Global Universities Network for Education Development (GUNED), jointly are organizing a workshop representing nearly 50 leading universities in Africa and, are moving closer to each other.
The two organisations will do their own cooperation together in South Africa next year, but come together for the first time ever on the Future Africa Campus of the University of Pretoria (UP) on 22 February 2025.
The main issue on the agenda will be equitable research collaboration to tackle shared global challenges. Human capacity development emerged as a top priority for both organisations.

The Network fosters over 80 active research programs , engages over 2,000 researchers and students, and works with government, international agencies and industry. GUNED brings together major universities that sit in widely diverse geographical and cultural contexts, and which in partnership provide an unparalleled richness of capacities that are brought to bear on major research questions.
