Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda, has called upon Muslims to uphold the values of charity, responsible parenting, education, and unity as they celebrate Eid Al-Adha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Rector&#8217;s message was delivered on his behalf by the Vice Rector in Charge of Finance and Administration, Prof. Abdul Kaziba Mpaata, during Eid prayers held at the IUIU Main Campus in Mbale on wednesday 27th May 2026.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prof. Mpaata conveyed the Rector&#8217;s Eid Mubarak greetings and appreciation to staff, students, parents, community leaders, international partners, and well-wishers who joined the celebrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He urged Muslims to remember the less privileged during the festive season by sharing sacrificial meat with those in need and ensuring that the meat reaches its intended beneficiaries rather than being sold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The Rector reminds us that there are many deserving people in our communities who should also have a reason to smile on this day. Islam teaches us to care for one another as brothers and sisters,&#8221; Prof. Mpaata said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Rector also emphasized the importance of good parenting, urging parents to guide their children in religious observance, moral values, and education to ensure a strong future generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He further called for respect for elders and the promotion of unity within families and communities, noting that&nbsp;children should be nurtured&nbsp;to uphold Islamic values and contribute positively to society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prof. Mpaata highlighted the role IUIU has played in empowering Muslims through education and encouraged parents to ensure that children attend school and make proper use of their time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The celebrations also featured the slaughtering and distribution of sacrificial animals through local mosques as part of the university&#8217;s Eid Al-Adha outreach activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-embed-handler wp-block-embed-embed-handler\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/youtube.com\/watch?v=wh6AU1zPhfU%3Ft%3D62s\n<\/div><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Rector of the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU), Assoc. prof.
