{"id":1328,"date":"2025-05-30T16:07:00","date_gmt":"2025-05-30T16:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/whedafrica.org\/?p=1328"},"modified":"2025-06-02T16:10:05","modified_gmt":"2025-06-02T16:10:05","slug":"department-of-sociology-launches-75th-anniversary-to-celebrate-legacy-of-sociological-inquiry-in-ghana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/whedafrica.org\/index.php\/2025\/05\/30\/department-of-sociology-launches-75th-anniversary-to-celebrate-legacy-of-sociological-inquiry-in-ghana\/","title":{"rendered":"Department of Sociology Launches 75th Anniversary to Celebrate Legacy of Sociological Inquiry in Ghana"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Department of Sociology at the University of Ghana has launched its 75th anniversary celebrations to honour its enduring contributions to sociological research, teaching and policy engagement in Ghana and across the world.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The launch, held under the theme&nbsp;<em>\u201c75 Years of Institutionalised Sociological Inquiry in Ghana,\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;brought together current and former faculty, staff, students, alumni and members of the university community for a memorable gathering at the Department\u2019s forecourt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, the Provost of the College of Humanities, Professor Joseph Awetori Yaro, praised the Department for its pioneering role in shaping generations of sociologists and social science professionals.
